"My 40th birthday to me was a chance to celebrate and kick-start my mid-life crisis in style (!), but I decided rather than receive presents, I would prefer my friends and family to donate to a charity that focused on treatment and cure for cancer, a disease in many of its forms that has effected my family in every recent generation. I found Killing Cancer through press coverage, liked the idea and early successes of its new treatments, and noted that it is chronically under-funded. A donation from my friends to this most worthy of causes seemed the perfect gift to mark my landmark birthday.
